RAJSHAHI, Sept 9, 2026 (BSS)- Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has started distributing public awareness leaflets for dengue prevention in all 30 wards of the city under the direction of its Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton.
The city corporation took the initiative with the aim of implementing the directives of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
Since this morning, RCC health workers have been going door-to-door in the 30 wards of the city, distributing awareness leaflets among citizens about what to do to prevent dengue.
At the same time, citizens were advised to keep their own houses and yards clean and to take necessary steps to prevent the spread of Aedes mosquitoes.
The leaflet calls for keeping the inside of houses and the surrounding environment clean to prevent the spread of Aedes mosquitoes.
In particular, it has been advised to regularly clean places where water can accumulate, such as flower tubs, coconut shells, discarded tires, containers, tin cans, and trays under or around refrigerators and air conditioners.
In addition, along with using mosquito nets while resting or sleeping during the day and night, a call have been made to take special care of pregnant mothers, newborns, children, and the elderly.
The leaflet also states that if any symptoms of dengue appear, one should quickly go to the nearest urban health center or hospital and get tested for dengue as per the doctor's advice.
If infected with dengue, it has been advised to take plenty of water and other liquid foods as per the doctor's advice.
To prevent dengue, the RCC Administrator has called upon the city dwellers to keep their own houses, yards, and surrounding environment clean and tidy.
