Preparation afoot to observe Eid-e-Miladunnabi in Khulna tomorrow

KHULNA, Aug 25, 2026 (BSS) - All preparations have been completed to observe Eid-e-Miladunnabi (PBUH) in Khulna with due religious fervour and solemnity in line with the national programmes tomorrow.
 
Different organisations including Khulna district administration, Khulna City Corporation (KCC) have taken various programmes to mark the day.
 
According to the district administration, the programmes will be held across the district tomorrow with religious fervor and solemnity. 

Discussion meetings and doa mahfils will be organised by the district administration, upazila administrations, Khulna City Corporation, municipalities, public universities and private organisations at their respective initiatives.

Doa mahfils will also be arranged at all mosques in the district under the joint arrangements of the district and upazila administrations and mosque committees.

Educational institutions, the District Shilpakala Academy, Shishu Academy, cultural organisations, Islamic Foundation and other religious institutions will organise discussions, Quran recitation, doa mahfils, hamd-nath, poetry recitation, cultural competitions for students and quiz competitions on the 
life of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).

The programmes will focus on the Prophet's life, works and teachings as well as peace, progress, harmony, tolerance, universal brotherhood, human rights and dignity of women in Islam.

Children will also participate in hamd-nath, poetry and essay competitions and discussions based on the life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Improved-quality food will be served at government and private hospitals, government child families, child shelters, child development centres, old-age homes, child and juvenile development centres, orphanages and drug rehabilitation centres across the district.

Banners and festoons highlighting the significance of the day will also be displayed at important points in the city.

As part of the observance, a discussion meeting on the life and works of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), a cultural programme and a doa mahfil will be held at the auditorium of the District Shilpakala Academy at 5pm tomorrow, organised by the Khulna district administration.

Meanwhile, the KCC will be observed discussion at the Nagar Bhaban tomorrow morning, followed by hamd-nath, poetry and essay competition.

Later, prize distribution will also be held.
 
Khulna University (KU), Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET), Khulna Agriculture University (KAU), Khulna Press Club and other organizations will also observe the day.
