RANGPUR, Aug 24, 2026 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 seized a huge quantity of contraband drugs and foreign currencies and arrested a man from Ajlabad village under Pirganj police station in Thakurgaon on Sunday afternoon.

The arrestee is Md Sahalal Islam, 37, son of late Wazed Ali of the same village, a press release said here this afternoon.

Acting on a tip-off, a team from RAB-13's Dinajpur camp raided a house in the village at 2 pm, seized the drugs and foreign currencies, and arrested the man from his bedroom.

The seized goods included 40 bottles of Fensebyl syrup, six bottles of Rips Royal liquor, 301 bottles of various Indian pesticides, 960 Betamethasone tablets, 1,920 Indian rupees, five Malaysian ringgits and 100 Omani baisa.

During the initial interrogation, the elite force learned that the arrested man had been involved in the drug trade for a long time.

After filing a case in connection with the incident, the elite force handed over the arrested man and the seized drugs and other goods to Pirganj police station in Thakurgaon for further legal action.
