RANGPUR, August 17, 2026 (BSS) – A mobile court today fined Promee Ice Cream Factory, located in the Thanapara area under Taraganj upazila of the district, Tk 20,000 for producing and selling ice cream without a license.

“The Rangpur divisional office of the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) and the Taraganj upazila administration jointly conducted the drive,” said a press release issued here this afternoon.

Executive Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Taraganj upazila Asmaul Husna led the mobile court.

Inspector (Metrology) Engineer Tadmira Sharmin and Field Officer (Certification Marks) Marufa Begum served as prosecutors.

The Rangpur divisional BSTI office will continue such drives in the public interest, the release added.
