TANGAIL, Aug 15, 2026 (BSS) - A man was electrocuted while charging an auto-rickshaw in Sakhipur upazila of the district this morning.

The deceased was identified as Shah Alam, 50, son of Buzrut Ali of Kutubpur Uttar Ichamari area of the upazila.

The accident occurred around 8:00am when Shah Alam came into contact with electricity while charging his auto-rickshaw, police said.

Locals rescued him and rushed him to Sakhipur Upazila Health Complex where the attending physician declared him dead.

Sakhipur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Murad Hossain confirmed the matter.
