RANGPUR, August 14, 2026 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested three suspected killers within 24 hours of the murder of auto-rickshaw garage owner Abdur Rahman, 65, in Tajhat Ansari intersection area of Rangpur city this morning. 
 
The arrestees are Md Dulal Mia, 45, from the Purbo Khasbag area of Rangpur city and Feroza Begum, 55, and Md Rezaul Islam, 55, both from village Bhotmari under Kaliganj police station of Lalmonirhat district, a press release said here. 
 
Earlier on Thursday night, miscreants hacked to death auto-rickshaw garage owner Abdur Rahman at his garage in Tajhat Ansari intersection area under Tajhat police station of Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) in the city. 
 
Later, a murder case was filed against unknown accused in this incident at the RpMP's Tajhat police station. 
 
Considering the importance of the case, RAB-13 immediately intensified detective surveillance to arrest the accused. 
 
On a tip off, an operational team of RAB-13's Sadar Company from Rangpur, with the help of information technology, conducted a raid and arrested three suspected killers from the Kaliganj police station area of Lalmonirhat district this morning. 
 
During the interrogation of the arrested accused, they admitted their involvement in murdering the auto-rickshaw garage owner in a preplanned way.
 
The arrested accused persons have been handed over to the Tajhat police station for further legal action.
