GOPALGANJ, Aug 13, 2026 (BSS) - A motorcyclist was killed after an unidentified truck hit his motorcycle from behind in Muksudpur upazila of the district today.

The deceased was identified as Rezaul Alam, 45, son of late Atiar Rahman of Bara Bongram village in Muksudpur upazila.

The accident occurred around 12.30pm on the Dhaka-Barishal highway in Dignagar area, said Azadur Rahman, a sub-inspector of Bhanga Highway Police Station.

Quoting local residents, the police official said Rezaul was riding his motorcycle from Muksudpur towards Tekerhat. When he reached in Dignagar area, a speeding unidentified truck coming from behind rammed his motorcycle.

The impact threw Rezaul onto the road, where he was run over by the truck and died on the spot.

Following completion of the necessary legal procedures, the body was handed over to the deceased's family.
