BAGERHAT, Aug 10, 2026 (BSS) - The district police are operating special checkposts at different points, including on the Bagerhat-Khulna highway, to curb crime, maintain law and order, prevent drug trafficking and illegal traffic and ensure public safety.

The checkposts are being operated jointly by police station personnel, intelligence and traffic police under the overall supervision of Bagerhat Superintendent of Police Hasan Mohammad Nasher Rikabdar.

The superintendent inspected a checkpost at around 4pm on Monday and took part in the activities. He also spoke to the police personnel on duty and issued necessary instructions on crime prevention, maintaining law and order, combating drugs, stopping illegal traffic and ensuring public safety.

District police said the special checkpost operations would continue as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security and control crime across Bagerhat.
