KHULNA, Aug 10, 2026 (BSS) - Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Commissioner Md Sazzadur Rahman today rewarded officers and members of the traffic division for their commendable performance and dedication to duty.

The award distribution ceremony was held at the conference room of KMP Headquarters at 11am.

Addressing the programme, the commissioner appreciated the traffic personnel for performing their duties under challenging weather conditions and urged them to remain mindful of their health and safety while discharging their responsibilities.

He also stressed the importance of maintaining polite and humane behaviour with members of the public while enforcing the law firmly.

"Even when people become angry, police members must remain patient," he said, adding that police personnel should remember that they were once ordinary citizens and would eventually return to civilian life.

The commissioner said good behaviour with members of the public is one of the key ways to improve the image of the police.

Although it may not always be possible to resolve every problem faced by citizens, police personnel can listen to their concerns, communicate sincerely and provide necessary assistance within their capacity, he added.

He said recognition and rewards for good performance would continue in the future to encourage police personnel to discharge their duties with greater dedication and motivation.

At the ceremony, financial rewards were given to one police inspector (city and traffic), five sergeants/traffic sergeants (TSIs), five assistant traffic sub-inspectors (ATSIs) and 20 constables for their outstanding performance during the past month.

KMP Deputy Police Commissioner (Traffic) Shafiqul Islam and police personnel of different ranks were present at the programme.
