RAJSHAHI, Aug 10, 2026 (BSS) - A mobile court today fined a bakery Tk 10,000 for producing and selling 'Decorated Cake (Birthday Cake)' without obtaining a quality certificate from the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI), officials said.

The mobile court, conducted in Rajshahi city at the initiative of the BSTI Divisional Office, fined Roza Bakery, located in the BSCIC Industrial Estate area.

The bakery was also found operating in a unhygienic environment and using non-food-grade ingredients, officials said.

Executive Magistrate Farhana Hossain led the mobile court, while Engineer Junaid Ahmed, an officer of the Certification Marks Wing of the BSTI Divisional Office, served as the prosecutor.

Members of the Rajshahi Metropolitan Police were present during the drive.

BSTI officials said such drives will continue regularly in the public interest to prevent food adulteration and ensure the supply of quality food products.
