KHULNA, Aug 10, 2026 (BSS) - The average pass rate in this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations under the Jashore Education Board (JEB) stood at 66.27 percent, while 11,478 students secured GPA-5.

Both the pass rate and the number of GPA-5 achievers declined compared to last year. At the same time, the number of educational institutions with no successful candidates increased.

Jashore Education Board Secretary Prof Abdul Matin said the answer scripts had been evaluated properly and that the board had moved away from unhealthy competition.

“The pass rate declined mainly due to students’ weaknesses in English and mathematics. However, the overall result is satisfactory,” he said.

He added that investigation committees would be formed against institutions where no student passed, and departmental action would be taken based on the findings.

A total of 132,940 students appeared in the SSC examinations under the board this year, of whom 88,097 passed.

Meanwhile, 11 educational institutions recorded zero passes this year, compared to only two such institutions last year.

On the other hand, all students passed from 36 educational institutions under the Jashore Education Board this year.
