PATUAKHALI, Aug 6, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Coast Guard organized a free medical camp in Durgapur area under Itbaria union of Sadar upazila, providing healthcare services and essential medicines to 470 underprivileged and disadvantaged people.
The information was disclosed in a press release issued on Thursday afternoon by Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon.
According to the statement, the Bangladesh Coast Guard regularly conducts free medical camps as part of its humanitarian initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of people living in coastal and riverine areas.
As part of these ongoing efforts, the medical camp was held from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm on Thursday under the management of Coast Guard Base Agrojatra in Durgapur, Itbaria Union.
During the camp, 470 local men, women, and children received free health check-ups, medical consultations and necessary medicines.
Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon said the Bangladesh Coast Guard remains committed to ensuring healthcare services for coastal communities and will continue organizing similar humanitarian and public welfare initiatives in the future.
