KHULNA, Aug 5, 2026 (BSS) – Police recovered the hanging body of a teenage housewife from a residence in Khulna city on Wednesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Mita,16. The body was recovered around 9 am from a house at Gaffar Food intersection in Gilatala under Ward No. 6 of Khan Jahan Ali Police Station.

Following the incident, police detained the victim's husband, Mazhar, and her father-in-law, Saiful Islam, for interrogation.

Officer-in-Charge of Khan Jahan Ali Police Station Md. Abul Basar said police rushed to the scene after receiving information from local residents. They found the young woman hanging from a bamboo beam inside the house.

The body was sent to the hospital for postmortem.

Necessary legal proceedings are underway, the OC added.
