RAJSHAHI, Aug 3, 2026 (BSS) - Jatiyatabadi Peshajibi Dal today organized a tree plantation programme at Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) campus to promote environmental conservation, increase greenery and raise public awareness.
The programme was arranged by the Rajshahi city unit of the organization as part of the Prime Minister's initiative to plant 25 crore trees over five years.
Chairman of the Rajshahi Development Authority (RDA) and Vice-President of Rajshahi city BNP Abul Kalam Azad Sweet attended the event as the chief guest.
President of Jatiyatabadi Peshajibi Dal's central executive committee Advocate Toufiq Ahsan Titu, Vice-President Prof Dr. Muhammad Nisar Uddin Talukder, Organising Secretary Md. Saiful Islam Hirak and Rajshahi district General Secretary Faruk Hossain, along with leaders and activists of the Rajshahi metropolitan and district units were present.
As part of the programme, participants planted 100 neem saplings across the RUET campus.
Speakers underscored the importance of tree plantation in maintaining ecological balance, mitigating the impacts of climate change and building a greener and more livable Bangladesh for future generations.
They urged people from all walks of life to take part in tree plantation drives to help protect the environment.
RUET authorities extended overall cooperation for the successful implementation of the programme.
