TANGAIL, Aug 2, 2026 (BSS) - The National Directorate of Consumer Rights Protection has fined three hospitals and one clinic a total of Taka 150,000 for various irregularities during a drive in Tangail municipality.
 
During the operation on Sunday afternoon, the pathology department of Pilot Hospital was sealed.
 
The drive was led by Asaduzzaman Rumel, Assistant Director of the Tangail office of the National Directorate of Consumer Rights Protection.
 
Speaking after the operation, Rumel said Pilot Hospital was fined Taka 50,000 after inspectors found evidence of several violations, including conducting pathological tests without the presence of a qualified pathologist, storing expired medicines, failing to maintain the required temperature in medicine storage refrigerators and preserving spoiled blood.
 
Apollo Hospital was fined Taka 25,000, Sena Combined Hospital Taka 25,000, and Janata Clinic Taka 50,000 for various irregularities.
 
Rumel said such enforcement drives would continue in the future to ensure compliance with consumer rights and healthcare standards.
