BOGURA, Aug 1, 2026 (BSS) - Detective Branch (DB) of Police today arrested three suspects while recovering a revolver, locally made weapons, yaba tablets, cash and several mobile phones from their possessions during a raid here in the district.

On information, the raid was conducted in a forested area along the Baghopara riverbank in Bogura Sadar at around 10 pm.

The arrestees were identified as Rocky and Rakib. The identity of the third detainee was withheld for his being juvenile.

Confirming the raid and arrest, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the District Detective Branch (DB) Police Iqbal Bahar said Rocky is the leader of a criminal gang and Rakib served as its second-in-command and there are multiple cases against them.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the five-to-six-member gang had set up a hideout by pitching tents in the secluded forest outside the town, he said.

Besides running drug business, the gang allegedly abducted innocent people and demanded ransom for their release, he said, noting that the legal action against them is underway.
