NATORE, July 27, 2026 (BSS)-The door-to-door data collection campaign for issuing Farmers' Cards is progressing steadily in the district with information from 12,096 farmers collected so far representing 65 percent of the target.

The initiative also covers fishermen and livestock farmers. District and Upazila agriculture officials are regularly monitoring the data collection process.

On Saturday afternoon, Director (Crop Wing) of the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) Dr. Salma Laiju visited the Haybatpur Agricultural Block under Sadar Upazila and the Samsakhalsi Agricultural Block under Naldanga Upazila to inspect the ongoing activities.

According to the DAE's Natore office, the data collection campaign began on July 16 across one agricultural block in each of the district's seven upazilas. 

The total number of potential farmers identified in the seven agricultural blocks is 18,595. Data collection including photographs has already been completed for 12,096 farmers.

The upazila-wise breakdown of completed registrations is as follows-Natore Sadar- 1,459, Naldanga-2,110, Singra-2,208, Gurudaspur: 1,795, Baraigram-2,347, Lalpur- 854 and Bagatipara-1,322.

Sub-Assistant Agriculture Officer Md. Mizanur Rahman of the Haybatpur Agricultural Block said that the relevant officials are collecting information on farmers' cultivated land, crops grown during the three agricultural seasons, use of chemical and organic fertilizers, irrigation practices and receipt of government incentives. 

Md. Shahjahan Ali, a Sub-Assistant Agriculture Officer working in the Samsakhalsi Agricultural Block of Naldanga Upazila, said the overall operation is progressing smoothly.
