KHULNA, July 27, 2026 (BSS) - Over 500 people received free eye care services at a daylong medical camp in Dumuria Upazila of Khulna today, where patients requiring cataract surgery were also identified for further treatment.
The camp was organised at Andulia Kaderia Dakhil Madrasa by Khulna BNSB Eye Hospital with financial support from The Follows Foundation.
Poor and underprivileged residents, along with madrasa students, received free eye examinations, specialist consultations, basic diagnostic services and necessary medicines during the camp.
Assistant Superintendent of the madrasa Anwar Hossain Akunji termed such humanitarian initiatives highly commendable, saying they would help prevent avoidable blindness and restore eyesight for needy people.
Joint Convener of Raghunathpur Union BNP A.M. Aminur Rahman extended overall cooperation in organising the camp, while F.M. Nahid Hasan coordinated its management.
The medical team included Dr Al Amin, Programme In-charge Md Reza, A. Kaiyum Badsha, Samrul Islam, Nurul Islam, A.M. Ruhul Amin, G.M. Helal, Habiba Khatun, Monira Khatun and Sanowar Hossain.
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the organisers and supporting institutions for arranging the free medical services.
