NARAIL, July 27, 2026 (BSS) - A cattle trader was killed and another person injured in a road accident on Chitra Bridge in Sadar upaila here this afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Monir Kazi, 48, son of Rokon Kazi of Kola village under Lohagara upazila. The injured, Milon Khan, is currently undergoing treatment at Narail Sadar Hospital.

According to police, Monir Kazi and two others were transporting cattle on a locally-made three-wheeler from Lohagara to the Bhangura cattle market. As the vehicle was ascending the bridge, Monir and another passenger struck their heads against the bridge's barrier, sustaining severe head injuries.

Local people rushed the injured to Narail Sadar Hospital, where the on-duty physician declared Monir Kazi dead. 

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Narail Sadar Police Station Ajay Kumar Kundu confirmed the matter and said the body was handed over to the victim's family after completion of the necessary legal formalities.
