RANGPUR, July 26, 2026 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested a man and seized 1,270 pieces of Yaba tablet and a passenger bus from the Palashbari municipality area under Palashbari police station area of Gaibandha district today.
 
The detainee is Md Zahidul Islam alias Zahid, 50, son of late Kafil Uddin of village Dariapur Mirer Bagan under Sadar police station of Gaibandha district, a press release said here tonight.
 
On a tip off, a team of RAB-13 from Gaibandha Camp searched a Gaibandha-bound passenger bus from Chittagong on the Dhaka-Rangpur highway at Palashbari municipality, seized the drugs and bus and arrested the man at 9:15 am.
 
Initial investigation revealed that the arrested accused is a professional drug dealer and has been supplying, buying and selling drugs in various districts of the country, including Rangpur, for a long time.
 
After filing a case in this incident, the elite force handed over the seized drugs and the arrested person to Palashbari police station of Gaibandha, the release added.
