RCC hands over 155 advanced CCTV cameras to RMP for safer Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, July 26, 2026 (BSS) – To ensure the security of Rajshahi city residents, curb crime, monitor vehicular movement and build a digitally secured city, Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has handed over 155 state-of-the-art CCTV cameras to the Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP).

This noon, at the conference room of the RMP Commissioner's office, RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton formally handed over the state-of-the-art CCTV cameras to RMP Commissioner Mohammad Faizul Kabir.

At the event, RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton said they are working to implement the directives of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and ensure civic services.

“We want to work based on the demands of the people. The state-of-the-art CCTV cameras have been provided for the security of city dwellers. We will work collectively to build a safe and peaceful metropolis. The RCC will continue to provide necessary cooperation to the RMP,” he said.

RMP Commissioner Mohammad Faizul Kabir said the state-of-the-art CCTV cameras provided by the RCC would play an important role in preventive and detective policing and strengthen the security system for citizens.

On behalf of RCC, Chief Executive Officer Rezaul Karim, Secretary Sohel Rana, Superintending Engineers Khairul Baker and Ahmad Al Moin Parag, Executive Magistrate Nazmul Alam, Executive Engineer (Electrical) ABM Asaduzzaman Sweet and other concerned engineers were present at the event.

On behalf of RMP, Deputy Police Commissioners Khorshed Alam and Mainul Islam, and Special Superintendent of Police (City SB) Abul Kalam Sahid were present at the event. The programme was conducted by Deputy Police Commissioner (CTTC) Md. Gaziur Rahman.

It may be mentioned that the modern technology-equipped CCTV cameras will be installed at important roads, intersections and crowded places in Rajshahi metropolis.

Through the installation of these cameras, round-the-clock surveillance will be strengthened, while crime prevention, improvement of the law and order situation, traffic management and rapid response in emergency situations will become more effective.
