Tree plantation drive held in Khulna as part of BNP's environmental campaign

KHULNA, July 24, 2026 (BSS) – The Khulna city unit of Jubo Dal today carried out a tree plantation programme in Wards 22, 29 and 31 as part of its ongoing environmental campaign launched in response to a call by Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman.

KDA Chairman and Khulna City BNP President Advocate S.M. ShafiqulAlam Mona inaugurated the programme as the chief guest at Abu Hanif Madrasa in Notun Bazar under Ward No. 22 in the afternoon.

Khulna Metropolitan Jubo Dal Convener Abdul Aziz Sumon and Member Secretary Robiul Islam Rubel attended the event as special guests.

As part of the programme, participants planted saplings of various fruit-bearing, timber and medicinal trees.

Speakers said the initiative was aimed at maintaining ecological balance, addressing the adverse impacts of climate change and contributing to the development of a greener, cleaner and more livable Bangladesh.

They said Jubo Dal leaders and activists have been carrying out environmental conservation and other social welfare activities under the directives of Tarique Rahman, describing tree plantation as a long-term commitment to ensuring a safe and healthy environment for future generations.

The organisers expressed their determination to continue such public welfare and environment-friendly programmes in the days ahead.
