RAJSHAHI, July 22, 2026 (BSS) - Rajshahi Association, a historic institution closely linked with the region's social, cultural and educational development, marked its 155th founding anniversary on Tuesday with a discussion meeting.
Speakers at the event called for preserving the organization's rich history and heritage while engaging the younger generation in its activities.
The meeting, held at the conference room of the Rajshahi Association, was presided over by Sabur Ali, Additional Deputy Commissioner and Vice-President of the association.
Sabur Ali said the association is not merely an organization but an integral part of Rajshahi's social and cultural history. He stressed the need to make its activities more dynamic and strengthen its role in preserving the region's heritage.
Mahbub Siddiqui, President of Heritage Rajshahi, presented the keynote paper and highlighted the association's contributions to education, culture, public welfare and social progress over the past 155 years.
Other speakers included Member Secretary of the association and Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Hasen Ali, Life Members Liakat Ali, Abdul Awal Khan Chowdhury and Rezaul Islam, and Dr Sabrina Anam.
They said the association's long journey reflects the unity, social responsibility and cultural awareness of the people of Rajshahi, urging collective efforts to carry forward its legacy.
Registrar of Rajshahi University Dr Iftikharul Alam Masud, Rajshahi Bar Association President Advocate Abul Kashem and other distinguished personalities attended the programme.
