RANGPUR, July 21, 2026 (NSS) - Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Mabud has instructed police members to maintain the utmost professionalism, honesty, patience, and public-friendly behavior while performing their duties.
 
"Health, discipline, professionalism and honesty should be the commitment of every police member. Good health and mental well-being of every police member is one of the foundations of professional competence," he said. 

The RpMP Chief said this while addressing the monthly welfare meeting of RpMP held at the Rangpur Metropolitan Police Lines Auditorium as the chief guest on Tuesday. 

Additional Commissioner of Police (Administration and Finance) of RpMP Naresh Chakma, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime and Ops) Toffael Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Headquarters and Administration) Md Habibur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Md Mahfuzur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Estate and Development) Md Abdur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DB) Sanatan Chakraborty, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Maruf Ahmed were present as special guests.

Senior officers and police members of various units also participated in the event. 

In the meeting, officers and members of various units presented their respective opinions, challenges in performing their duties, and personal and institutional problems. 

The RpMP Commissioner said that every member should lead a healthy lifestyle, undergo regular PT parades, follow hygiene rules and the dress code properly and ensure an orderly, clean presence. 

There is no scope for direct or indirect involvement in any drug-related activities. Strict action will be taken against anyone involved in such unethical activities as per the law and departmental rules. 
 
He emphasized restraint and caution in using mobile phones and said that everyone should refrain from online gambling, unethical digital activities and unnecessary use of mobile phones while performing their duties. 
 
Regarding the mental well-being of police members, he said that mental support should be provided to colleagues with sincerity and cooperative attitude so that a positive environment is maintained in the workplace. 

He also stressed maintaining personal financial discipline and said that police members should refrain from borrowing money from each other or engaging in improper financial transactions so that professional relations and discipline remain intact. 

The RpMP Commissioner agreed to relaunch the RpMP Police Welfare Fund with the unanimous consent of all the police members present at the meeting.
