RAJSHAHI, July 19, 2026 (BSS)- The sale of Trading Corporation of Bangladesh
(TCB) products at fixed subsidized prices for the month of July has started
in Rajshahi.
The programme was formally inaugurated today in the Chandipur area of the
city by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kazi Shahidul Islam.
At the inaugural ceremony, the DC said that a total of 1,74,057 cardholder
families in Rajshahi metropolitan area including nine upazilas of the
district are getting this TCB benefit in the current month of July.
The subsidized products are being sold through 36 dealer points in the city
and 83 dealer points at the upazila level.
He said that this time, a package worth Taka 458 is being offered with two
litres of soybean oil, two-kg of lentils, and one-kg of sugar.
In addition, two soaps have been kept. The price of two litres of soybean oil
is Taka 200, two-kg of lentils is Taka 120, and one-kg of sugar is Taka 70.
Apart from that, a bath soap worth Taka 45 and a laundry soap worth Taka 23
can be taken as per the buyer's wish. That is, if someone wants, they can buy
soap, but it is not mandatory if they don't want to.
Deputy Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam said regular monitoring is being done
by the field administration so that this benefit of the government reaches
the doorsteps of the actual beneficiaries properly.
Atiqur Rahman, deputy director of the TCB's Rajshahi Regional Office, said
that although five-kg of rice at Taka 30 per kg is allocated in the TCB
package, rice allocation was not received in the month of July.
However, the sale of rice at subsidized prices will start from next month.
