BANDARBAN, July 9, 2026 (BSS) - The Paramilitary Border Guard Bangladesh
(BGB) is helping restore road communication in different parts of Bandarban
affected by floods and landslides triggered by continuous rainfall.
The road links between Bandarban district headquarters and several upazilas,
particularly Rowangchhari were disrupted due to flooding and landslides, said
a BGB press release issued here today.
Uprooted trees and accumulated debris also blocked roads at various points,
causing immense suffering to local residents, it said.
The members of the BGB Bandarban Sector Headquarters joined rescue and
recovery efforts and removed fallen trees and debris from roads, helping
restore communication and resume vehicular movement.
The BGB personnel are also assisting the local administration and relevant
authorities in repairing damaged electricity and telephone poles to help
restore power supply and telecommunication services, the release added.
