Gatherings banned within 200 yards of HSC exam centres in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, June 30, 2026 (BSS) - Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) has imposed special security measures around examination centres in the city for the 2026 HSC, Alim, HSC (BMT) and HSC (Vocational) examinations.

According to a public notice issued by RMP, all types of processions, meetings, rallies, demonstrations, use of microphones, and carrying of explosives and weapons will be prohibited within 200 yards of the respective centers during exam hours, starting July 2, for the duration of the examinations.
 
This restriction has been imposed under the powers vested by Sections 29(1)(a), 29(1)(b), and 30 of the Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Act, 1992. 

The notice states that the decision was taken in the interest of maintaining law and order and ensuring the smooth and peaceful conduct of the examinations.
 
The restriction will apply to 27 examination centres, including: New Government Degree College, Rajshahi Government Women's College, Rajshahi College, Shah Makhdum College, Rajshahi Court College, Mother Baksh Home Economics College, Shaheed Mamun Mahmud Police Lines School and College, Barendra College, Shaheed AHM Kamaruzzaman Government Degree College, Rajshahi Education Board Government Model School and College, Rajshahi Cantonment Board School and College, Rajshahi Government Model School and College, Rajshahi Government City College, Haji Zamir Uddin Shafina Women's College, Kasiadanga College, Nowhata Government Degree College, Nowhata Women's College, Rajshahi Darus Salam Kamil Madrasa, Madinatul Ulum Kamil Madrasa, Nowhata Salehia Darus Sunnat Fazil Madrasa, Adarsha Karigori O Banijjik College, Horagram Model Technical and Business Management College, National Science Research and Technology College, National BM Technical School and College, City Technical and Business Management School and College, Mohanagar Technical and Business Management Institute, and Nowhata College.
 
The public notice was signed by RMP Commissioner Mohammad Faizul Kabir on Sunday.
 
The notice further stated that necessary action will be taken under existing law against anyone who violates the declared restrictions.
