RCC Administrator inaugurates National Vitamin A Plus Campaign 

RAJSHAHI, June 28, 2026 (BSS) - As part of the national program, today the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign was formally inaugurated in Rajshahi city. 

Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton attended as the chief guest and formally launched the program by feeding Vitamin A capsules to children at Nagar Bhaban.

Under the RCC management, the campaign began in the city with a target of administering Vitamin A capsules to a total of 66,395 children - including 9,113 children aged 6-11 months and 57,282 children aged 12-59 months.

Speaking as the chief guest at the event, the RCC Administrator said the current government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, has given the highest priority to the health sector.

Vitamin A is extremely important for building a healthy, beautiful, and safe future for children. Everyone must remain vigilant to ensure that no child is left out of receiving the vitamin. 

He called on all to perform their duties sincerely to successfully implement the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign.

He further added, "A special appeal to the residents of Rajshahi city - take your children aged 6 months to 59 months to the nearest center and have them administered the Vitamin A capsule free of cost."

Presided over by RCC Chief Executive Officer Rezaul Karim, the event featured a welcome address by RCC Chief Health Officer Dr. F.A.M. Anjuman Ara Begum. 

The program was moderated by RCC Secretary Sohel Rana. 

Also present were Family Planning Divisional Director Dr. Kasturi Amina Queen, RCC Superintending Engineer Khairul Baker, along with other officials and staff from the RCC Health Department and other divisions.

It is worth noting that under RCC's management, capsules will be administered from 8 AM to 4 PM at 384 centers across 30 wards. 

In addition, capsules will be administered at ward offices until 8 PM during the campaign. 

Through the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign, all children aged 6-11 months will be given one blue Vitamin A capsule, and all children aged 12-59 months will be given one red Vitamin A capsule.

 To ensure smooth and successful implementation of the campaign, a total of 768 volunteers - 2 for each center - have been deployed across the 384 centers.
