GAIBANDHA, June 25, 2026 (BSS) - A total of 3,53,803 children will be administered Vitamin A capsules in all seven upazilas of the district on June 28 under the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign.
Of them, 35,992 children aged between 6 and 11 months will receive blue-coloured Vitamin A capsules, while 3,17,812 children aged between 12 and 59 months will be given red-coloured capsules.
The information was disclosed by Civil Surgeon Dr Rafiquzzaman Rafique at an orientation workshop for journalists held at his conference room here today.
The Civil Surgeon's Office organized the workshop to brief journalists about the campaign.
As many as 2,033 centres will be set up across the district and 1,153 supervisors will work to ensure the success of the programme, sources said.
Speaking at the workshop, Dr Rafiquzzaman Rafique said special initiatives have been taken to bring children living in hard-to-reach chars and remote areas under the programme with support from a number of NGOs, including Friendship.
Medical Officer of the Civil Surgeon's Office Dr Md Sakib Fersous and Junior Health Education Officer Pulok Kumar Chakrabartee, among others, spoke at the programme.
