RAJSHAHI, June 25, 2026 (BSS)- The National Vitamin ‘A’ Plus Campaign will be held across the country on June 28.
As part of the national programme, under the management of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC), a target has been set to feed Vitamin A capsules to a total of 66,395 children in Rajshahi city — including 9,113 children aged 6-11 months and 57,282 children aged 12-59 months.
This information was shared at a press conference held today in the Conference Room of Nagar Bhaban on the occasion of the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign.
The chief guest at the press conference was RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton.
In his speech, the RCC Administrator said the current government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, has given the highest priority to the health sector. The National Vitamin ‘A’ Plus Campaign, to be held across the country on June 28, must be implemented successfully.
He further said vitamin A is extremely important for building a healthy, beautiful, and safe future for children. Vitamin A protects children’s eyesight, boosts immunity, and protects children from various risks of malnutrition.
Therefore, ensuring Vitamin A capsule intake for every child according to their designated age is very crucial.
“A special appeal to Rajshahi city residents: take your children aged 6 months to 59 months to the nearest center and have them fed Vitamin A capsules free of cost,” he said.
One small initiative can play an important role in ensuring your child’s good health. “Let us all work together to build a malnutrition-free, healthy and beautiful future for children.”
At this time, the RCC Administrator sought the cooperation of journalists working in the media to successfully complete the Vitamin A Plus Campaign in Rajshahi city.
It was informed that on June 28, under RCC’s management, capsules will be administered from 8 am to 4 pm at 384 centres across 30 wards.
Additionally, during the campaign, capsules will be administered at ward offices until 8 pm. Through the National Vitamin ‘A’ Plus Campaign, all children aged 6-11 months will be given one blue Vitamin A capsule, and all children aged 12-59 months will be given one red Vitamin A capsule.
To ensure the smooth and successful implementation of the campaign, a total of 768 volunteers — 2 per center — will be deployed at 384 centres.
The press conference was presided over by RCC Chief Executive Officer Rezaul Karim.
RCC Chief Health Officer Dr. FAM Anjuman Ara Begum presented the overall information on the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign.
RCC Health Department officials and print and electronic media journalists were present at the press conference.
