JHENIDAH, June 23, 2026 (BSS) - An expatriate was killed and another person injured when a soil-laden tractor struck an easy-bike in Boyratala Bazar of Sadar upazila here on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Kamruzzaman, 45, son of Ansar Biswas of Paka village in Jhenidah Sadar Upazila. He had been working abroad for many years and recently returned home on vacation.

The accident occurred around 11.30 am in Boyratala Bazar of Kalicharanpur union when a speeding tractor crashed into the easy-bike, leaving its passenger Kamruzzaman and another passenger critically injured.

Local residents rushed them to Jhenidah Sadar Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared Kamruzzaman dead.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Asaduzzaman of Jhenidah Sadar Police Station confirmed the matter.
