MANIKGANJ, June 23, 2026 (BSS) - An awareness meeting on safe food was held at Manikganj Government Boys' High School this morning.

The meeting was jointly organized by the Bangladesh Food Safety Authority and Consumers Association of Bangladesh (CAB), Manikganj district unit.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md Nazmul Hasan Khan attended the programme as the chief guest.

The meeting was presided over by the school's Headmaster Mumtaj Begum, the meeting was attended by around 80 students of classes eight and nine, scouts and teachers.

Speakers said unsafe food poses health risks while safe and nutritious food is essential for a healthy life. They stressed the importance of choosing safe food and creating awareness among people.

Among others, Manikganj Press Club President Zahangir Alam Biswas, General Secretary Shahanur Islam, CAB Manikganj President ABM Shamsunnabi Tulip and Vice President Engineer Muhammad Faruque Hossain attended the event.
