3 private healthcare institutions fined Tk 4-lakh in Rangpur

RANGPUR, June 22, 2026 (BSS) - A delegation from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in separate drives has fined three private clinics, 
hospitals and diagnostic centers in Rangpur city a total of Taka 400,000 for various irregularities. 
 
The drives were conducted on Monday afternoon in the city's Dhap and Check Post areas under the leadership of Deputy Director of the DGHS Dr Md Ibrahim 
Titon. 
 
Assistant Director of the DGHS Dr SM Mahmudur Rashid, Medical Officer Dr Hafizur Rahman, Rangpur Divisional Health Director's Office Officer Dr Firoz 
Hasan Khan, Civil Surgeon Dr Shaheen Sultana and Medical Officer Dr Anirban Mallik were present at the time. 
 
In addition, Executive Magistrate of the District Administration Nusrat Ara and officials of the Civil Surgeon's Office, among others, were present in 
the drives. 
 
During the drives, Lab Aid Clinic and Nursing Home was fined Taka one lakh for non-registration and mismanagement, Fast Cure Specialized Hospital and 
Trauma Center was fined Taka two lakh for using expired anesthetic drugs and Amar Desh Hospital was fined Taka one lakh.

Besides, several hospitals, clinics and diagnostic centers in the same areas were warned.
 
At the time, Deputy Director of the DGHS Dr Md Ibrahim Titon told local reporters that the drives were conducted on the instructions of the Health 
Minister at private hospitals and diagnostic centers in Rangpur. 
 
In this, three clinics, diagnostic centers and hospitals were fined for various irregularities, including not having licenses. 
 
"The media and conscious citizens of Rangpur can play an important role in ensuring quality healthcare for the common people of the region," he 
expressed hope. 

The DGHS will provide necessary guidelines to the local administrations to ensure better health services, he added.
