Police-Magistracy Conference held in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, June 20, 2026 (BSS) - A Police-Magistracy Conference was held today in the district with the aim of making judicial activities more dynamic, ensuring justice for people seeking legal recourse, and strengthening coordination among various departments. 

The conference took place in the conference room of the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court.
 
Presided over by Rajshahi Chief Judicial Magistrate Abdul Malek, the conference facilitated an exchange of views among the judiciary, police administration, and other relevant departments. 

Emphasis was placed on taking various effective steps to reduce the suffering of justice seekers.
 
In his address as chair, Chief Judicial Magistrate Md. Abdul Malek stressed the importance of serving summons, executing arrest warrants, warrants of proclamation and attachment, ensuring the presence of witnesses in cases, providing security for witnesses traveling to and from court, removing obstacles in investigation activities, and ensuring timely receipt of medical certificates, autopsy reports, forensic and viscera reports.
 
He further stated that it is important to clearly record injury marks on hospital discharge certificates, submit prompt reports regarding proclamations and property seizures, present evidence from the malkhana (court storehouse) to the court in a timely manner, produce undertrial accused before the court, and quickly complete the disposal, destruction, or auction of seized evidence. 

He expressed optimism that justice can be ensured within a reasonable timeframe through mutual understanding and sincere efforts of all stakeholders involved in the judicial process.
 
The conference was attended by all magistrates serving in the Rajshahi Judicial Magistracy, the Superintendent of Police and representatives of PBI, representatives of the District Magistrate, representatives of the Superintendent of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, RAB, BGB, CID, DB Police, representatives of the Jail Superintendent, representatives of the Civil Surgeon, the President and General Secretary of the Rajshahi Advocate Bar Association, the Public Prosecutor, Probation Officers, along with all Officers-in-Charge of police stations in the district and officials from relevant departments.
