The speakers at the human chains said that everyone knows about the suffering of the people on the banks of Teesta.

For years, only promises have been made, but there is no visible progress. Now, it is no longer an assurance, people want to see the start of project implementation.

The government must ensure that funds are allocated for this project in the revised budget.

They said that the TMP is directly related to the livelihoods, agriculture, river erosion prevention and environmental protection of millions of people living alongside the Teesta riverbanks.

The TMPIMC believes that there is no alternative to the rapid implementation of the TMP for sustainable development of the region, increase agricultural production, prevent river erosion, create employment and improve the quality of life of the people.
