BAGERHAT, June 18, 2026 (BSS) - The three-day Fruit Fair-2026 has begun in Bagerhat with the theme "Let's cultivate Mora fruits and preserve them for twelve months."

Bagerhat Deputy Commissioner Golam Md. Baten inaugurated the fair at the Bagerhat Sadar Upazila Auditorium at 11 am today.
District Fisheries Officer Raj Kumar Biswas, Bagerhat Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mosa. Atia Khatun, Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension Santosh Kumar Nath and Deputy Director of the District Information Office Muinul Islam attended the discussion session held after the inauguration as special guests.

Alhaj Md. Motahar Hossain, Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension, Khamarbari, Bagerhat, presided over the programme.

In his speech as the chief guest, Deputy Commissioner Golam Md. Baten said, "There is no alternative to planting fruit trees to increase the production of local fruits, ensure nutritional security and maintain environmental balance. To face the challenges of climate change, every family should take the initiative to plant and care for at least one fruit tree."
