RAJSHAHI, June 18, 2026 (BSS) – Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has not increased auto-rickshaw fares or set any new fares.
Complaints have recently been received that some auto-rickshaw drivers operating in the Rajshahi metropolitan area are charging passengers more than the fixed fare.
In this context, it is clearly stated that Rajshahi City Corporation has not increased auto-rickshaw fares or introduced any new fare structure, according to a public notice issued today.
The city residents have been requested not to pay more than the fixed fare. At the same time, auto-rickshaw drivers have been instructed not to collect excess fares from passengers. The notice sought cooperation from all concerned.
Meanwhile, the Revenue Department of Rajshahi City Corporation has started monitoring the fare issue on the ground.
Today, officials and employees of the RCC Revenue Department spoke with auto-rickshaw drivers and passengers at various intersections in the city, including Barnali and Laxmipur Mor.
RCC Chief Revenue Officer Abu Saleh Md. Nur-E-Saeed, Revenue Officer Sarwar Hossain Khokon, and other officials and employees of the Deputy Vehicle Branch were present.
