MYMENSINGH, June 14, 2026 (BSS) - A teenage boy was killed after being struck by lightning in Bhaluka upazila of the district on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Faisal Ahmed, 16, son of Nizam Uddin of Ward No-7 under Bhaluka municipality.

The incident occurred around 2.00 pm in Megha Field, adjacent to the Bhaluka Press Club.

At the time of the incident, Faisal was returning home through the field after completing work when he was suddenly struck by lightning, leaving him critically injured. Local residents rushed him to Bhaluka Upazila Health Complex where the attending doctor declared him dead.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhaluka Model Police Station Md. Zahidul Islam confirmed the matter.
