RAJSHAHI, June 14, 2026 (BSS) - A day-long job fair was held in Rajshahi. The fair was held at a convention center in Kadirganj in the city on Saturday.
A total of 27 government and private organizations and more than 300 job seekers participated in the fair.
It was jointly organized by three social organizations, including 'Proyas', under the 'RAISE' project with financial and technical support from the Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF).
There was high demand for skilled workers at the stalls of participating organizations. In particular, applications were collected from job seekers for recruitment as IT specialists, salesmen, and computer operators.
Based on their qualifications, candidates submitted their CVs and participated in oral interviews (viva). After screening and the viva, about 50 percent of the candidates were given jobs on the spot
The organizers said the fair was mainly organized with the aim of directly connecting trained youth with various employment-oriented institutions.
The event was chaired by Nazim Uddin Mollah, Executive Director of Shatoful Bangladesh. The chief guest was Tuktuk Talukder, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) of Rajshahi.
Special guests present included: Rafiqul Islam, Deputy General Manager of Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC), Golam Jilani, Sub-Project Coordinator of the RAISE Project, Hasib Hossain, Founder and Executive Director of Proyas Manobik Unnayan Society, Mohsin Ali, Founder and Executive Director of Shapla Gram Unnayan Sangstha, and others.
