RAJSHAHI, June 13, 2026 (BSS)- As part of the Prime Minister's simultaneous countrywide tree plantation event, Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) organised a tree plantation programme.

This afternoon, Administrator of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC), Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, was present at the programme at Kashiadanga More in Rajshahi metropolis. 

Speaking at the time, RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton said, as part of implementing the election manifesto of the present government led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, a programme to plant 250,000 trees across Rajshahi city has been undertaken.

In the first phase, the planting of about 53,000 trees has already begun. Various species of flowering, fruit, timber and medicinal trees are being planted with the aim of increasing greening in the city, maintaining ecological balance and enhancing beauty. 

Calling upon city residents to plant trees, the RCC administrator said, "Let each of us plant at least one sapling. Let us all together build Rajshahi metropolis into a greener, cleaner, environment-friendly and healthier city." 

Also present at the tree plantation programme were RCC Chief Executive Officer Md. Rezaul Karim, Secretary Sohel Rana, Superintending Engineer Ahmad Al Moin Parag, along with other officials of the city corporation.
