KHULNA, June 12, 2026 (BSS) – Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-6 arrested an alleged supplier of arms and food to a pirate gang operating in the Sundarbans and recovered three locally made one-shooter guns from his possession in Bagerhat district.

The arrestee was identified as Sabur Sheikh, 51, son of late Akter Ali Sheikh.
According to a RAB-6 press release, a special operational team of RAB-6, CPC Special Company, conducted a raid in the Shrifaltala Southpara area under Rampal upazila at around 2:50pm on Thursday based on secret information.
 
During the operation, the elite force arrested Sabur Sheikh and recovered three locally made one-shooter pipe guns wrapped in a black plastic bag from his possession.
 
During preliminary interrogation, Sabur reportedly admitted to supplying arms and food on different occasions to the Sundarbans-based pirate gang led by “Chhoto Jahangir”, the release said.
 
A case was filed in this connection.
