BAGERHAT, May 23, 2026 (BSS) – A “Love Gift Distribution Program-2026” was held among underprivileged children in Mollahat Upazila of Bagerhat district today, aiming to spread joy and encouragement among children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

The event, titled “Loving Gift Box for Children,” was organised at Shurigati AG Church at 12 noon, in collaboration with Operation Generation and Shurigati Ashirbad AG School and Hope Center.

Mollahat Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sumona Irin attended the programme as the chief guest.

Upazila Project Implementation Officer Mizanur Rahman, Superintendent of Ashirbad School and Hope Center Reverend Prabir Mondal, Area Coordinator Reverend James Asit Biswas and Press Club Mollahat General Secretary MM Mofizur Rahman were present as special guests. The programme was presided over by Pastor Shmuel Goldar.

Speaking as the chief guest, UNO Sumona Irin said children are the future of the nation and society should come forward to ensure their proper development. She said such humanitarian initiatives help bring joy to children and boost their confidence.

She also stressed that beyond gift distribution, collective efforts are needed for the development of children’s education, morality, and human values.

Later, gifts were distributed among the children. Local dignitaries, guardians, and people from various professions attended the event.
