A mobile court imposed the fine while conducting operation under the initiative of the Divisional Office of the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI).

During the operation, Suman & Brothers in the city’s New Market area was fined Taka 10,000 under the “Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution Act, 2018” for selling and distributing various cosmetic products — including shampoo, soap, lipstick, nail polish, and skin powder — without BSTI clearance.

Additionally, Lira Import, located at Theme Omar Plaza, was fined Taka 5,000 for storing and selling expired cosmetic products.
