NETROKONA, May 12, 2026 (BSS) - Sewing machines were distributed among 34 distressed and helpless women of Sadar upazila under the Annual Development Program (ADP) in the district today.

Professor Dr. Md. Anwarul Haque, member of parliament, of  Netrokona-2 (Sadar-Barhatta), handed over the sewing machines to the beneficiaries at a function as the chief guest at Sadar Upazila Parishad auditorium at 10.30 am.

Mr Huque urged the 34 women from 12 unions of the upazila to utilize the sewing machines properly and become self-reliant through self-employment.

Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Asma Binte Rafique presided over the event. 

Among the special guests were Md. Shamsuzzaman Asif, Assistant Commissioner (Land), and Rehnuma Noreen, Upazila Agriculture Officer.

Officials from different levels of the upazila administration were also present at the program.
