GAIBANDHA, April 5, 2026 (BSS) - A soil trader was fined Taka one Lakh for 
cutting topsoil of land and selling it to the customers illegally in 
Gobindaganj upazila of the district this noon. 

Acting on a tip-off, a mobile court led by Assistant Commissioner (Land) and 
Executive Magistrate Tamsid Iram Khan conducted a drive at Dakhkhinpara 
village under Kamardaha Union of the upazila on Sunday noon and found soil 
cutting and selling activities of the local trader.

Later, he fined soil trader Abu Hossain Taka one lakh for cutting topsoil and 
selling it to the customers. The court also seized the excavator popularly 
known as Veku machine used for cutting soil from the spot. 

The case filed by the court was disposed of after collecting a penalty of 
money from the accused instantly.
