RAJSHAHI, April 5, 2026 (BSS)- A discussion meeting was held today between 
the newly-joined Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Rajshahi, Kazi Shahidul Islam, 
and journalists working in various print, electronic, and online media 
outlets in the district.

The meeting emphasized district development, public welfare activities, and 
strengthening mutual cooperation between the administration and the media. 

Deputy Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam chaired the meeting that took place 
on Sunday noon in his conference room.
 
In his speech, the Deputy Commissioner said that Rajshahi is a district full 
of immense potential. The district administration is working under a zero-
tolerance policy. 

If journalists, alongside the administration, play a constructive role in 
development and public welfare activities, the overall progress of the 
district will accelerate further, he noted.
 
He added, "Your cooperation and constructive criticism will strengthen our 
work. To maintain continuity in development, everyone must work together. 
Strengthened cooperation between the administration and the media will make 
it possible to resolve public problems more quickly."
 
At the meeting, journalists presented various suggestions and opinions 
regarding district development, social issues, and the improvement of public 
services. 

The Deputy Commissioner attentively listened to the issues raised by the 
journalists and assured that necessary steps would be taken.
 
Among those present at the meeting were Deputy Director of the Local 
Government Branch Zakiul Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sabur Ali, and 
journalists working in various print, electronic, and online media 
organisations in the district.
