GAIBANDHA, Mar 27, 2026 (BSS) - Three hundred families affected by a recent nor'wester in Razahar Union of Gobindaganj Upazila will receive Tk 26,000 each to repair their damaged houses. 

The financial support is being provided under the project "Rapid Response for Storm-Affected Communities," funded by Start Fund Bangladesh and implemented by SKS Foundation, a local non-government development organization. 

The officials made the announcement at a workshop held at the conference room of the Gobindaganj Upazila administration, with UNO Syeda Yasmin Sultana in the chair. 

Shamim Kaiser Lincoln, Member of Parliament (MP) for Gaibandha-4 constituency, attended the programme as the chief guest. 

Khondoker Zahid Sarwar, Director of Programmes at SKS Foundation, said each family will first receive Tk 6,000, followed by an additional Tk 20,000 from the project. 

The upazila administration, in coordination with the organization, will prepare a list of beneficiaries, and the money will be distributed through mobile banking platforms. 

The officials sought the cooperation of local authorities and the community to ensure smooth implementation of the project.

Upazila-level officials, social workers, stakeholders, and invited guests attended the function.
