One held with 52-kg touchstone in Thakurgaon

RANGPUR, Feb 24, 2026 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 has seized a 52-kg touchstone statue worth over Taka one-crore and arrested an alleged smuggler from village Sukanpukuri under Bhully police station of Thakurgaon district early today.

The detainee is Md Lal Mia, 60, son of late Fazal Haque Mandal of Sukanpukuri village under Bhully police station of Thakurgaon district

Based on information, a Crime Prevention Specialised Company team (CPSC) of RAB-13 from Rangpur raided a house in the village, seized the touchstone statue and arrested Lal Mia at 4:30 am, a press release said here this afternoon.

The estimated market value of the touchstone statue is more than Taka one crore.

The arrested person along with the seized touchstone statue handed over to Bully police station in Thakurgaon, the release further said.
