MUNSHIGANJ, Feb 24, 2026 (BSS) - Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officer Ziaur Rahman, 38, tragically lost his life in a train accident in Srinagar upazila of the district this morning.

Ziaur Rahman, son of Md. Abdur Kader from Bestabdia village in Dhamrai, Dhaka district, was reportedly returning from an official inspection of a ditch excavation program in the Sholaghar area when the accident occurred. 

While traveling back through the Keootkhali area in Srinagar upazila, he was struck by a train and fell beside the tracks.

Locals rushed to his aid and quickly transported him to the Srinagar Health Complex, where medical personnel declared him dead upon arrival.

Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman, Deputy Director of the District Agricultural Extension Department, confirmed the incident. Srinagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Nazmur Huda Khan also verified the accident.
