Drugs worth Tk 6.5 lakh seized in Kushtia

KUSHTIA, Feb 24, 2026 (BSS) - Members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized drugs worth approximately Taka 6,53,437 in separate drives conducted in border areas of Kushtia.

The seizures were carried out by the Kushtia Battalion (47 BGB) on Monday based on specific intelligence information, according to a press release issued by Battalion Commander Rashed Kamal Rony this afternoon.

During the raids at various Border Outposts (BOPs) under the battalion's jurisdiction, BGB personnel recovered 120 bottles of Fairdeal syrup, 10 bottles of Indian liquor and 500 pieces of dexamethasone tablets.

The estimated market value of the seized contraband is Taka 6,53,437.

The recovered drugs are being deposited at the battalion's Caesar Store and will be destroyed in accordance with the existing rules, the release said.
